How To Ace The IBPS RRB Exam?

The Banking personnel selection institute conducts national-level banking exams for prospective candidates, who dream of working in regional rural bank sectors. IBPS RRB Syllabus

The IBPS RRB syllabus is largely split into five sections, which include Reasoning Ability, Quantitative Ability, English/Hindi language, Current Affairs, and Computer Concepts. The syllabus for the Officer’s grades 1,2,3 and the assistant officer is quite similar, however,  the level of difficulty may vary. The exams are conducted in two stages, the first is the preliminary stage and the second one is the main exam. In the preliminary exam, Reasoning Ability and Quantitative Aptitude are included.

  • Reasoning Ability:

This section of the exam includes 40 questions with a weightage of 50 marks. Here, we can expect the questions from the following topics- Analogy, Odd One out, Coding and Decoding, Alphabet Test, Series Test, Input, and Output, Sitting Arrangement, Word Formation, Statements, and Conclusion Statements and Argument, Statements and Action Courses, Paragraphs and Conclusions, Miscellaneous Test.

  • Quantitative Aptitude-

This section includes 40 questions with 50 marks allotted. In this category, we can expect questions from Number System, Number Series, Number Series, Profit and Loss Calculations, LCM and HCF, Decimal Fractions, Cube Root, Square Root, Simple and Compound Interest, Calculation of Percentage Ratio, Problems related to Averages and Ages, Pie charts, Line Graphs, Bar Graphs, Mixed Graph Problems, Permutation, and Combination, Probability, Case Studies, problems on Data Analysis, Statistics, Data Handling.

  • General Knowledge-

It is a mandatory paper for officers of all grades. The main topics that have to be covered under this category are Current Affairs, Banking Awareness, the Indian Financial System, the Atal pension scheme, etc. Other important concepts like – BASEL, and Credit Rating Agencies. Global Economy, Banking terminology, Books & Authors, Reserve Bank of India, Monetary Policy etc., Function of Banks in society, Marketing, etc., History of Banking.

  • Computer Concepts:

 It is one of the most essential skills in this competitive world. This section demands knowledge regarding the following terms: Computer Fundamentals, basic knowledge about Software/Hardware and their Functionalities, Computer Networking, the  Internet, etc.

  • English/Hindi Language:

Candidates have the option of choosing any one language out of these two. People should have a strong hold on communication and written skills. Most of the questions are designed from the perspective of grammar, such as, Idioms and Phrases, Reconstruction of Sentences and Paragraphs, Reading Comprehension, Synonyms, and Antonyms.
